Lin Li is a third year Ph.D. student in the Department of History. She is interested in a wide range of disciplines and has a diverse educational background. Before attending University of Wisconsin-Madison, she has majored in History at East China Normal University, Political Science at National Chengchi University, and Philosophy at Calvin College. Currently, her major is East Asian History with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. Her dissertation research focuses on the emergence, development, and legacy of leftist feminism in turn-of-the-twentieth-century China, Taiwan and Japan. She is excited about conducting field research in Japan this upcoming summer with the generous help of the Scott Kloeck-Jenson International Pre-Dissertation Travel Grant.
