Anupama Kumar

Anupama is a first year PhD student in Sociology at UW Madison. Her interests are economic sociology, sociology of economic change and development, gender, finance and the welfare state. She plans to intern with Kudumbashree in Kerala, India, where she hopes to understand how women in communities think of their finances and how states in the Global South can support them. Anupama holds degrees from the National Law School of India University and Oxford University and worked in a policy think tank in India before coming to graduate school. In her spare time, she can be found cooking, reading mystery novels or watching videos of dogs on Youtube.
