World Cinema Day brings the world to middle and high school students with curated international films that engage, educate, and entertain. A post-screening discussion with a special guest engages students in an exploration of the world of the movie. Several post-film Q & A’s featured the film’s director or writer.
Bussing costs will be reimbursed.
World Cinema Day is a collaboration between the University of Wisconsin – Madison Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS) and the Wisconsin Film Festival.
The 2026 film will be chosen from the films scheduled for presentation in the 2026 Film Festival. The title and information about the film will be shared as soon as the selection is made in late February. Be sure to check out our recap of the 2025 World Cinema Day experience to get an idea of all that’s in store!
