Using Literature to Explore SDG 4: Quality Education

Join us for our online September Book Club event with Dr Elisheva Cohen who will present on using literature to explore SDG 4: Quality Education.

Dr. Elisheva Cohen is a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Issues and Sustainable Development at Indiana University. Her research centers on education in developing contexts, with a particular focus on education in areas of crisis and conflict. In her service and teaching, she supports the incorporation of global and sustainability-related content and across the educational pipeline (K-16) using the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a framework. Dr. Cohen has taught preschool, elementary, high school and college students in the United States, Morocco, and Jordan.

Books discussed will be:

  • Malala’s Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai (K-5)
  • Serafina’s Promise by Ann E Burg (6-8)
  • The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare (9-12)

All registered participants will receive access to a digital resources folder.

The first 30 Wisconsin K-12 educators who register for this event will receive a copy of a book based on grade level.
