In an expansion of the African Story Hour experience, Madison Public Library has partnered with The Institute for Regional and International Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in collaboration with Wisconsin Public Libraries to bring the world to YOU through the brand-new Children’s International Story Hour!
Each session will take place at Pinney Library and will be a time of sharing award-winning children’s literature that celebrates the diversity of arts, culture, and language across the globe.
Participants will also learn about global music and engage in hands-on crafts that stimulate their curiosity. Each week promises to be fun and enriching! The event is free and designed for children ages 5–10 and their caregivers, but all are welcome.
We hope you’ll join us on Monday, February 23rd from 4:00 – 5:00pm for a Story Hour on A Different Pond, a story about a child named Bao Phi, who awoke early to fish on the shores of a small pond in Minneapolis with his father. Between hope-filled casts, Bao’s father told him about a different pond in their homeland of Vietnam.
