Cat Carroll (B.A. Journalism, International Studies, and German, ’25) has published a new project with the Pulitzer Center, From the Ground Up: Filipino Community Helps Fill Gaps in Austria’s Health Care.
A Wolff Fellow and Health Journalism Fellow with the Association of Health Care Journalists, Carroll investigates how Austria’s Filipino community is addressing a growing health care staffing crisis. Her reporting highlights how grassroots support networks – built through shared culture and lived experience – are helping newly recruited Filipino nurses navigate life and work in Austria.
