Last week, the 53rd Session of the Wisconsin High School Model United Nations Conference (WHSMUN) convened at UW–Madison for the annual two day event. Co-sponsored by the IRIS NRC, the conference featured newly introduced committees, including the Special Political and Decolonization Fourth Main Committee, the re-established Council of the European Union, and the inaugural Historic Crisis Committee. Following the opening ceremony and keynote address, the high school students attended different simulated committee sessions across campus. The students were also invited to attend a delegate social, hosted at the Chazen Museum of Art, where they had the opportunity to network and meet additional participating students.
