Conference Website

Edgewood College and the Wisconsin Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies invite students, academics, and activists to the Edgewood College campus for a one-day conference on the theme of peace-building in a world beset by ongoing environmental degradation.

Those who wish to participate are encouraged to submit a 1-2 page proposal for papers, presentations, posters, roundtable discussions, or artistic products or performances. Topics may include (but are not limited to) the challenges of mass migration, the potential for resource-motivated military interventions, and the disparate effect of environmental challenges in a post-colonial world.

Submissions from environmental scientists and activists are welcome as are submissions discussing these issues within the context of Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical Laudato si’ (“Praise be to you”).

Please submit a 1-2 page proposal to John Fields at jfields@edgewood.eduThe submission deadline is Friday, March 15, 2024.

For more information, please contact the conference organizer, John Fields, at jfields@edgewood.edu.
