The Institute for Regional and International Studies National Resource Center (IRIS NRC) is offering course development funds (up to $1,500 per grant) for faculty to develop new First-Year Interest Groups (FIGs) for Fall 2024 or Fall 2025. The FIGs should address topics related broadly to Human Rights, Global Peace and Security, Global Economy, International Education, or the Sustainable Development Goals. The Main FIG Seminar should be linked to two other classes, one of which must be International Studies 101: Introduction to International Studies.
Expressions of interest along with a one-page course description of the proposed FIG can be sent to Csanád Siklós, Associate Director, IRIS NRC at siklos@wisc.edu. Proposals for FIGs should be submitted to the FIG program by the end of October of the preceding year. Further information about FIGs for instructors can be found here: https://figs.wisc.edu/instructors/.
