We are excited to celebrate the recent publications of our 2023 Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium reporting fellow, Audrey Thibert. Audrey travelled to Tunisia in August to conduct interviews for her project, “A Shared Uncertainty: Migration Stories from Tunisia.” Her three articles present intimate profiles and tell the stories of people she interviewed during her time in Tunisia. You can read her report here, or click below to read the individual articles:
- Searching for Stability as a Migrant in Tunisia
- ‘I’ll Do It Again’: Hopes of Economic Stability Propel Young Tunisians Across the Mediterranean Sea
- ‘Things Were Good’: How One Ivorian Hairdresser Restarted in Tunisia
You can read more about Audrey, her time in Tunisia and the significance of carrying on the legacy of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Anthony Shadid in the profile published by the Journalism School.
Additionally, Audrey wrote for the Badger Herald about Erica Ayisi, a Pulitzer Center grantee who visited UW-Madison last Spring for classroom visits and several events. You can read Audrey’s piece, re-published by the Pulitzer Center, ‘You Can’t Stop Journalism’: Freelance Journalist Erica Ayisi’s Diligent Global Storytelling.
