In light of recent events surrounding the deeply offensive racist video that is affecting the UW-Madison and surrounding community, we stand with the statement made by Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion, LeVar Charleston. The voice of one does not represent the many and we condemn racism and violence in its entirety. We stand with our Black Badgers, students, faculty, and staff. Everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and valued both at the university and in the surrounding community.
We have outlined some resources available to those in need:
- Dean of Students Office, 608-263-5700
- UHS Mental Health Services(24/7), 608-265-5600 (option 9)
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Black Community Support
We vow to continue incorporating diverse programming into our schedule of events as an effort to try to aid in the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion for UW-Madison and the community as a whole.
